The Year 12 Ancient History excursion to the Chau Chak Wing Museum supports the NSW Stage 6 Ancient History Syllabus by giving students direct exposure to curated displays that deepen their understanding of ancient societies and the nature of historical inquiry. This engaging experience helped students evaluate the reliability and perspectives of ancient evidence, explore the complexities of reconstructing the past, and consider the ethical issues involved in the preservation and interpretation of cultural material. The excursion enriched our students’ understanding of Ancient Rome and enhanced their overall historical literacy.

As part of the OLM PDHPE course requirements, PASS and Marine Studies students attended the Surf Survival Course run by Cronulla Lifeguards at South Cronulla.

This Surf Survival Course is designed to provide swimmers and surfers of all levels with the skills and confidence needed to handle challenging ocean conditions and emergency situations. 🌊

The course consisted of a 400m swim in under 5 minutes followed by two tow activities, rescuing casualties with a surfboard and CPR.

The girls had a great day taking this course as it was an excellent learning experience, a fantastic way to increase safety and enjoy the ocean with more peace of mind. 🏄‍♂️

An excursion to a library and an art gallery is a wonderful way to blend literature and visual arts for an enriching experience. 🏛️✨

Yesterday, students from the Year 11 English class embraced this excursion to State Library and Art Gallery.

A great Math teacher is truly a gift. They have the unique ability to turn complex equations into understandable concepts and help students overcome “math anxiety.” 📐🔢

So it is with immense pride we announce one of our very talented OLM Mathematics teachers, Mrs McDonald has been invited to be a sessional tutor in Mathematics pedagogy at Notre Dame University.
