Congratulations to the Our Lady of Mercy Catholic College Burraneer Class of 2025 on your outstanding Higher School Certificate (HSC) results!

In a historic milestone, the College’s first-ever HSC cohort performed phenomenally well, recording 23 Distinguished Achievers, with 67 per cent of students achieving an ATAR above 85.

They also achieved the highest percentage of Band 6/E4 results across Sydney Catholic Schools, with 28.4 per cent of all results in the top band.

Our Lady of Mercy Catholic College Burraneer Principal Christine Harding congratulated Year 12 on their outstanding effort and achievements.

“We are very pleased with the results of our first-ever HSC cohort, which included a high number of Band 6s and an exceptional ATAR performance, with 25 per cent of students achieving above 90 and 62.5 per cent above 85. Our DUX achieved an ATAR of 98.7, reflecting the dedication and talent of our students,” Mrs Harding said.

“Our HSC achievements are a testament to our dedicated and hard-working teachers who share our vision of an all-girls, high-performing academic school in the Sutherland Shire.”

Reflecting on the Class of 2025, Mrs Harding added, “What has impressed me most is their commitment and their sense of pride in being the first HSC cohort, striving to create a lasting legacy for the College.”

SUCCESS ACROSS THE SYSTEM

Sydney Catholic Schools is celebrating an outstanding year of achievement with the Class of 2025 delivering some of the strongest HSC results in the system’s history.

Nearly 4,500 SCS students completed HSC exams this year, collectively achieving 2,875 Distinguished Achievers listings, 43 Top Achievers, 53 All Rounders. Five schools ranked among the top 100 high schools in NSW in The Sydney Morning Herald HSC rankings, with 17 schools in the top 150.

Sydney Catholic Schools again enjoyed incredible success across the Creative and Performing Arts and Vocational Education and Training (VET), with students receiving a record 321 nominations across HSC Showcases, and 1,989 nationally recognised VET Certificate II and III qualifications.
