Year 11 and 12 students witnessed presentations from the Sydney Catholic Schools - Teacher Education Scholarships and University of Wollongong.

Students learnt about a career in teaching, what it looks like and the different pathways to becoming a teacher.

The Step up into Teaching program is only offered to Year 11 students, and allows them to complete two university subjects whilst at school - successful completion will give them early entry to ACU and reduces their first year load at university. The applications for this close 22 May.

For year 12 students, the Future Teacher Scholarship provides them with a $22 000 scholarship over the 4 years of their degree and employment in a Sydney Catholic School priority area upon successful completion of their degree.

The University of Wollongong provided a great rundown on university life and the courses available at UOW. Students were also given an in depth breakdown of the UOW Early Offer program - which is based on Year 11 results, and opens in July for our Year 12 students.
This was a very timely presentation to encourage Year 11 students to do the best they can in their assessments, and provide some clarity to our Year 12 students as they begin to prepare early entry applications.

The cast and crew have been in musical overdrive finalizing the finishing touches to the upcoming OLM Burraneer and DLS Caringbah combined production of Shrek Jnr.

Both Colleges look forward to sharing the talents of their students on Tuesday 23, Wednesday 24 and Thursday 25 June,26.

Our Wednesday afternoon learning sessions have been hugely successful this year, with a strong number of students attending each week.
Over the past three weeks, specialised Mathematics, Science and English teachers have been available to support students.
In addition, our 2025 Year 12 HSC High Achievers have been assisting, particularly with Year 11 and 12 students as they prepare for their HSC.

Year 5 feeder students visited OLM this week for an immersive experience in our state of the art specialty teaching rooms.
Led by expert teachers and student mentors, the Year 5 feeder students honed their creative skills across Textiles, Food Technology, Science, and STEM sessions.
By engaging in hands-on experiments, students practiced problem-solving, critical thinking, and collaboration, gaining a vibrant preview of the college’s practical learning environment.
