Our first OLM Empower lunch for the year was designed to provide professional development, networking, and inspiration to attendees, frequently focusing on mentoring or supporting women in business and community leadership. The lunches focus on sharing career journeys, fostering connections, and discussing personal growth.
This week our special guest was Kelly Salmon. Kelly shared her career journey in HR and shared what it is like running a small business and fostering connections. We appreciated her time and valuable expertise.

Today a group of OLM Year 12 students attended the Sutherland Careers Information Day. This is an expo organised by the careers advisers of the Sutherland Shire to support Year 12 students as they prepare to transition from school to work, university or other training. With almost 100 exhibitors, it is a valuable event with something for everyone. As it is targeted at Year 12, students can easily discuss their needs by finding out about things such as Early Entry, Scholarships, cut-off dates etc. Our students embraced this opportunity and gained valuable insight into what their educational future holds. #olmcburraneer #careers

Across Sydney Catholic Schools, young artists are telling powerful stories through portraiture. The 2026 SCS Portrait Prize attracted 725 student submissions, with 93 artworks from 40 schools selected for exhibition.

Each portrait captures not just a face, but the connection and story behind someone important in the artist’s life. Now in its fifth year, the Portrait Prize continues to nurture creativity and artistic growth among students from Kindergarten to Year 12, encouraging them to develop both their technical skills and emotional insight.
